My Favourite Piece From Music Through The Decades

Welcome back bloggers, In the past few weeks, my class had been researching musicals through the decades. We started from the 1900s through the 1940s, but I am willing to share with you my favourite piece of work that I want to share. The piece of the work that I think I worked really hard is the music from the 1900s.

In my work, I researched about what were the most popular genre during the time. And then wrote about what was the most popular band, then I talked about little information of how the band was discovered. After that, I talked about the most famous song and which made me talked about how that song was formed.

I learnt that during the time the kind of music was very smooth and relaxing, which was the type of music/song that I want to listen to. And during that time most of the songs during the decade was not very loud and enthusiastic it was more like soft. I also learned a lot of things about how the band was formed because I don't usually listen to music like this. But I actually fall in love because the songs were so relaxing.

Here is my favorite piece of my presentation:

I think that I did pretty well on my work but I think I can do slightly better because I should've focused more on different types of music rather than focusing on information about how the band was formed.

Hope you enjoyed my blog post and maybe learned something. Please make sure to leave a comment that is thoughtful, helpful, and kind(:

Ukulele (Counting The Beat)

Kia ora (Hi) everyone welcome back to my blog. In our counting the beat session, we've been focusing on how to play the Ukulele. And Learned about the different parts of the Ukulele, the different sizes, and watched tutorials.

The Ukulele is very similar to the guitar but is just smaller, has fewer strings and frets. Some of the Ukulele has features like the guitar but it would be the same price as the guitar. Features like; a built-in tuner and that can plug into an amplifier. Ukuleles have different sizes which are: Soprano (the smallest), concert, tenor, and baritone (the biggest). They all have different tunes due to their sizes which smaller ukulele has a quieter tune and the bigger Ukulele have louder sounds.

The pros of the Ukulele are that you can travel with ease and is very light. But the cons is that it isn't loud as a guitar.

The chords that I've learned during the session were the c chord and the f chord. They are very easy to play with because its one of the common chords on the Ukulele. to play the c chord you have to put your ring finger on the 3 frets of the 1st string. And to play the f chord you need to put your index finger on the 1 fret 2nd string and the middle finger on the 2nd fret on the 4th string. by the way, you count the strings from the bottom all the way up.

Here are the parts of the ukulele:

Ukulele Size Guide – Different Sizes Of Ukuleles Explained

The Ukulele that I've played was the soprano which was the smallest one. It was so tiny and light as compared to an acoustic guitar. The sound of the Ukulele was so calming and relaxing that I got to imagine I was in front of the Ocean in Hawaii. But there was a problem with my Ukulele was IT WASN'T TUNED): I didn't know how to tune it without the tuner so I decided to just kept playing.

Hope you enjoyed my story of learning the Ukulele. Hope you learned something new and make sure to leave a comment.

Hurumanu 1 (Reading)

Hello readers, welcome back to my blog. In our Hurumanu 1 session, we are focusing on reading articles and answering questions. The journal that my group is reading is called How To Be Normal. There were a lot of interesting questions and were a lot of fun answering them. The story motivates you or other people who aren't normal when going to school or somewhere else.

I will be sharing three pieces of my work that I think I worked on very well. And there was this cool task which was listening to questions and answering the statements if it's true or false. I got all the true and false questions right it goes like this: True, false, false, true and true.

Here are the three pieces of work that I wanted to share:

Did I understand?

  1. Who did Charley bang into?

Charley banged into Micheal by whacking her hips on Micheal’s desk.

  1. Charley’s at more relaxed.’ What is the main message/purpose of this paragraph? Charley is more relaxed when she is at the playground sitting on the bottom of the slide. And when she’s at the library drawing pictures of horses repeatedly. Also when she is the last person to sit on her desk. How does the author create this mood? The author creates her mood of how the story flows and what kind of character the person is. What does it teach us about Charley? It teaches us that charley is a shy girl and is a very fragile and anxious person. It also teaches us that she likes to be in her own place concentrating. She also gets very scared when people stare at her and she likes to draw pictures of horses to make her calm.

  2. What impression does the author want to give of Charley? The author's impression of Charley is not normal because of how she reacts and does things unlike normal humans do. How do you know? Because on the first paragraph Charley is acting very shy and how she concentrates.

  3. Why is Charley angry with Amy? Because when Charley was drawing a line on her maths book Amy made a choking noise. And when Amy isn’t looking anymore Charley couldn’t concentrate because she is so angry.

  4. Do you think that she is right to be angry why/why not? I think that Charley has the right to be angry at Amy because she is annoying her and because Charley isn’t a normal person that's why she needs to concentrate.

  5. Find a range of words and phrases to show how Charley is feeling throughout the story. Charley’s at the old playground, sitting on the bottom of the slide and concentrating. Last week, she taught herself to eat apples without chomping. Already she’s feeling more relaxed. The bell rings, but she’s feeling good. Her heart pounds. she feels them go quiet. She feels their eyes swiveling back to her.Charley’s so angry she can’t concentrate.

Exploring language!
  1. What do these words mean? Find a definition for each one and use it in a sentence.

  • Screeches - A loud, harsh and intimidating noise. When the teacher was writing on the chalkboard, the chalk made a screeching noise.

  • Apologies - A regretful acknowledgment of an offense or failure. When I was trying to get through a cue for ice cream I crashed into someone and made their ice cream fall, then I apologized.

  • Intently - With earnest and eager attention. Her eyes were intently looking at me like it was about to kill me.

Why do you think we gave you this article to read as part of our Outstanders hurumanu? I think the reason why we read this article as part of our outstander is that it motivates us when we feel nervous about doing things. Write a paragraph explaining your ideas and giving evidence from the story. I think that the story is a very interesting and inspiring story because of how Charlie went from being not normal to being normal. The idea that relate to my understanding is when Charlie was under the playground slide and trying to concentrate in school. And the author gave a lot of emotion of how Charlie is acting which gives me a lot of ideas about how she is feeling. And when Charlie tried to draw a straight line on her book she couldn’t concentrate because of how the other student was annoying her. But when Charlie kept drawing horses and horses over and over again, she finally drew a masterpiece and made herself feel better.

Hope you enjoyed my blog post about my reading activity. Hope to see all of your comments.

Drama Reflection

Hello bloggers, today I will be sharing and reflecting on what we have been doing this term in our drama session.

We had lots of fun in drama and enjoyed our time so I will be reflecting on some things that I could remember. "I loved all the things we did in our drama session". I hope we get this subject next term because it's a lot of fun. The thing that I enjoyed the most was the emotional hitch driver because we had to create our own character and different emotions. I also loved the script play of the bullies because we get to memorize a script.

Reflections:

-Mask making - We had been making our own masks with a template, decorating them, and painting them. We used our mask to play in our own characters in the comedian of the Statue.

-Script - Play: Bullies - We had a script of the Bullies and had to memorize the script with our group. Our characters had their own and different voices and had different actions.

- Exploring Space on stage - Walking on stage in our own bubble and pretending to not look at each other.

-Games and warmup - We warmed up our voices and did some stretching to prepare.

-Storytelling - Our group had to make up a story, perform it to the class, had to relate our subject and have to make sense.

-Emotional hitchhiker - There is a driver and three passengers that have their own character and emotion.

-Comedian - There was the comedian of the statue, the poison and the chair. The statue had its own post and actually moving but when the people turn around it had its new position. The comedian of the poison is the person who makes it, kills the person who wants it and the other person likes it and doesn't die. Also, the comedian of the chair is when the person moves its chair and the other person moves its chair and tries to not look at each other, until they get very close to each other.

STOMP MUSIC

Hello bloggers, welcome back to my blog. In our Hurumanu session, we have been working on creating our own music which is called STOMP. We created our own music by developing our own group and making our own beat. We made our own music/beat by using different objects and doing different strumming patterns. My group used pens, a ruler a small bucket, a table, and markers. My role was drumming, Renz was doing the ruler, Jason was pen tapping and Isaiah was pen tapping with two pens.

The purpose of doing this video was to get us, use to create our own music and get creative.

Our first try creating our own beat was a fail so we tried different strumming patterns. Then we missed something, we realized we didn't have to do the same beating pattern. We tried and it and got better, then tried another beating pattern which sounded good, so we continued the beat. And we added a twist and add a pattern for our starting beat. So it was a success, we were so happy and got to film it.
Hope you enjoyed our stomp music, make sure to leave a comment that is positive, thoughtful, and helpful(:
