Hotspot Doc Writing week 5!

Kia ora guys,

Today in this blog post I will show you my hotspot doc week five writing that I did at school. Our topic for writing is difference and similarity.

Our challenge was to write a sentence about what is the difference and the similarity of a sneaker and a scuff. And we had to add the contrast of the sneakers and the scuff. Then we had to write down our conclusion. Which means which footwear is better, (Guess what I picked between the scuff and the sneakers.

Let me know what opinions you have and which one you like better the sneakers or the scuff? But if you have mix oppinion is okay(:

Week 5

Compare and Contrast

Contrast: 

Despite, However, Yet, Rather, Instead, Otherwise, Even though

Compare: 

Likewise, As well as, Either, Similarly, In the same way

Compare and contrast the two styles of footwear. Start with this sentence and finish the other two. Add your own compare and contrast sentences.



Introduction:  Today we are looking at a pair of sneakers and a pair of scuffs.



Compare: The sneakers can be worn on your feet. Similarly, the scuffs can be also worn on your feet.

Contrast: Instead of having the shoelaces on the sneakers, the scuffs can be worn on your feet easier.



Conclusion: I think that the sneakers are the better choice because it has better grip and the scuff can easily slip out of your feet Also the sneaker is more appropriate for school.

New app Venngage (How to be netiquette)

Hello guys,

So last Friday we had our cyber smart session and we watched a video about being netiquette in on line. It means when your being kind or respectful to someone in online and saying positive stuff about their work.

And tried a new app called Venngage you can make lots of poster about something it is a really good app for working. Our challenge was to make a poster about being netiquette in online. I was really being creative on my writing I was making the titles more creative with how each of the topic works. But the disappointing thing about this app is you can't download it because you need to have premium which means you have to pay. But if you press publish to the poster that you made you can view it and make the picture full screen and take a screenshot.

You can even add icons, background, icon chart, chart and maps.

If you can't read the poster you can try to zoom in so you can read.

Weekly Word (Sceptical)

So at school our word of the day is sceptical I was really confuse about the meaning. Every time when I do my weekly word our rules in school is to always use the word into our sentence. I really liked the word sceptical because it has a really amazing meaning.

Basketball Friday nights guess who won?

Welcome back guys,

Last Friday we had our basketball games again and we versus a team called Ilam magic and they were all girls.

Their team was really strong, powerful and their were two tall girls that is really good and guard me all the time. My team were very impressive and defensible and I was not disappointed because our team won. Again we won and it was our third or fourth basketball games that we won. And the scored was tied but then I was the player of the day because I scored four goals in ten seconds. We were improving alot and I bet that my friend should've get the player of the day because he did a good assit to me.

Winter Sport (Let's go)

G,day everyone,

So last Friday we played winter sport again and guess what happened, We won "Let's go".

We versus a school and we are the legend we are unstoppable. Because our professional best player didn't play cause he forgot all his gear and our other player had an issue, he had a broken arm. Also our other player wasn't there and we still won the game. We work really hard and I was the captain so I had to pick were my teams positions are and I put my self into the goalie position. I was really impressed of our team and the points were our team got 2 and the opponents got 1.

And our player of the day was a boy because he was to one who scored all the goals.

Collaborative writing.

Bonjour everyone,

So in our writing at school we had to write on a collaborative document. Which means it is only a document but all of the student in our class room is writing in it. 

We are learning to add onomatopoeia in our writing, it means a word that describe a sound for example boom, squish, thud and lots of more. 

So the first step that we did was watched a YouTube video and it was about seven year old boys running a eight hundred metres track. And then we add our ideas from what is happening to the video. We wrote a paragraph about using all our ideas that we had by watching the video. And after when we wrote our paragraph we highlight the ideas that we had. 

Here is my writing:

I am a 7 year old boy and I am running an 800meter track race. I was really nervous when I saw my opponents and  heard lots of people cheering for me and my opponents. When I heard a loud cracking sound of the pistol suddenly I sprint as fast as I can like a lightning bolt. And the man in the hi-vest jacket guiding the racer’s to the wright directions. My heart pounding like it was charging me to slow down and I can hear the other racer’s puffing and blowing their breaths behind me. And I can hear the racer’s shoes patering lightly and thudding to the ground as they run. And as I hear the racer’s breath blowing I was getting more nervous as they get near me. As the other racer’s running including me the commentator talks. Suddenly when I saw the finish line I was being happy and making myself proud then I was the first one to get across the line.

I can hear:

• The racer’s feet behind me - racer’s pattering, lightly, thudding, 

• The loud audience cheering- gogogogo…, let’s go, 

• The other racer’s puffing and their breath behind me

• My heart pounding like it was charging me- 

• The commentator talking. 

• The man in the hi-vest jacket guiding the racer’s. 

• Loud cracking gunshot- Boom, crack, 

• I am running a 800meter track race- 

• I sprint fast as a can like a lightning bolt-

Basketball congratulations to my team!

Hi blogger,

I have another awesome blog post to tell you guys and I bet that you ready know because of the title.

So last Friday we had another basketball game and we versus Ilam-celtics And they were very small people but they were energetic. The game was kinda not fair because I block a player but then he jump and the referee called a foul. Which means they get two shots from a short distance near the basketball hoop.

 I was really disappointed and my coach because the referee was not fair. But I was really impress of how we improve at basketball we scored eighteen points and the opponents had nine points. So congratulation to my team and the player of the day was a boy. Which I agree he should be the player of the day.

Winter sport ( Football story)

Hi everyone,

at Friday we had winter sport and their team names is FC Barcelona. It stand for Spanish football club but I don't really know exactly their school come from. The game was really fair and interesting the points was 3-3 which means it was tie.

We had a penalty but my team almost scored it but our player excitedly kicked the ball so it doesn't count. Our captain of the day is a boy he puts me into defender which means when the ball gets close to me I try to steal it. And last but not least I forgot our player of the day.

Word Work (easy and simple), not complicated!

In our writing we have been doing our word work and our task for today was really simple and easy. 

So the sentence are fragments that means the sentences are not proper sentences. We had to re-write the fragments sentences until it makes sense. And also we had to highlight the word that we have change. And it was very easy and not complicated but the one thing that I was struggling with was question five. But I use the word "I always plays various sports." rather than the word "Shadrach always plays various sports". That was the only mistake that I had.

Basketball Friday nights!

Hi guys,

I am sorry for not posting this kind of topic into my blog it is because I had been busy all the time. But anyways I will talk about how we did in Friday nights.

So at Friday nights we versus the St Hillview Girls and they we re really good it was all girls except their was one boy. And they won by hypes of points because we were not doing good are expectation was really bad. All of us were not doing team work and not sticking to their markers also some of us were not in the mood.

That is why we lost our game it was shockingly horribly and I felt really disappointed to myself and being embarrass to loosing a basketball game by versing girl teams.

That is my story of basketball.

Showing not telling sentences WOW!

Kia ora, (Hi) readers, 

Welcome back to my blog in this blog post I will show you what we have been doing in writing. 

So in writing we have been learning, show not telling sentences. And are challenge was to extending a sentence into a much more solid sentences rather than a boring simple sentences. For example when I felt angry my hand made a ball shaped and squeeze it really hard and made a looking aggressive face. Also made my teeth squeezed really tight together.

Writing word work (Vocabulary-punctuation)!

Welcome bloggers,

So today in this blog post I will share with you guys my writing word work.

My lovely teacher already made the sentence for us so we just put the punctuation. Are goal was to use these punctuation and to the sentences. Quotation marks (" "), comma, (,), a full stop (.), at the end of a sentence. A exclamation mark (!) and a question mark (?). 

So for a quotation mark it is used for people when speaking. A comma is when you extend a sentences. A full stop is when you finish a sentence and add it in so when someone is reading it they won't run out of breath. A exclamation mark is when your surprised like exclaimed.

It was really hard but anyways this is my work.
