Hello readers,
This is my first ever summer learning journey blog post.
Our task was to: think about ten food that will make you satisfied when your on an ocean voyage. And there are no electronics you can use. For example: Microwave, refrigerator and more. Also we needed to explain the reason why you choose those items.
So from the article that I red was I got invited to join Nainoa Thompson for three weeks at sea.
The food that I am bringing is:
1 - Protein bars
From my research I know that protein bars is a snack with lots of protien nuts. And I know that protein bars are really cheap. Also I know that it reduce fats.
2 - Chocolate bars
I know that my teacher said chocolate are really good for long trips and can last for years. And chocolate could lower cholesterol levels and they are really yum, but don't eat to much.
3 - Dried fruits
Dried fruit has lots of fiber in it, contains energy and have a helathy body. And these contains higher blood flows, better digestive health and reduced risk of many diseases.
4 - Almonds
I know that almond is a delicious nut and makes me satisfied. And it contains lots of protein and vitamin E. It also help me sustain energy
throughout the day.
5 - Fresh pure water
I already know that water keeps me hydrated and digest foods. It is also healthy because it has to sugar. And it circulate in every organs, inside and between organs.
6 - sandwich
I would bring healthy sandwich because of all the carbohydrates you get. It also is a decent size of food to make me full.
7 - Food cans
I remember that my dad told me that the military eat food cans. It is also easy to eat and no need to cook it or put it in the refrigerator. They are plenty of to chose from and easy to pack.
8 - Biscuits
I would bring biscuits especially cookies because of the sweet and the dough. They are sometimes soft and hard and makes me satisfied.
9 - Chips
I really like chips because of the different flavours it has. Also I really like the thin air chips.
10 - Muffin
It is really nice to eat muffin because of the fluffy and soft bread. And the creamy inside which makes me think of good times/things.
Hope you enjoy my blog post make sure to comment. Please leave a comment that is positive, helpful and kindful.
Question of the day: What would you bring if you were going to a long sea trip? (Would you bring the food that I said?)
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 7 and in 2021 I will be a year 8. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Mōrena Shadrach!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mikey. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team this year and I'll be commenting on some of your wonderful blog posts over the summer break. Congratulations on completing your first activity! I'm so pleased that you've decided to take part in the programme. :)
Wow! This is an amazing post, Shadrach. I can tell you've put a lot of thought and effort into it, and really taken your time to do some research around the foods you've chosen. I'm really glad that you've included water in your list - it's so important to stay hydrated, especially if you're out in the Sun for long periods of time. I definitely take water, dried fruit and nuts as well. Who would you take on the ocean voyage with you?
Congratulations again on completing your first activity! Keep up the awesome blogging - I can't wait to read more posts from you soon.
Mā te wā,
Mikey :)

DeleteHi Mikey,
DeleteThank you so much for giving me a positives feedback. I really ppriciate the kind words that you said to me. Also thank you for asking me question. I don't understand your question, can it be famous or just the people that I know. I would take Albert Einstein for an ocean voyage trip.
Kind regards
Shadrach
Have a grateful day Bye(:
Hi Shadrach,
DeleteYou're more than welcome! I'm glad that I was able to read it. :)
Oh, I'm sorry - I should have made my question more clear. It doesn't have to be a famous person, I just wondered who you might like to take with you. Maybe one of your friends? Or some of your family members?
Have a lovely night, Shadrach.
Bye for now,
Mikey :)
Hi Mikey,
DeleteThank you again for your reply, thank you so much for understanding my question. I would take my mum's cousin because they serve in the military in the USA.
Goodbye have a lovely day!
Hi Shadrach!
DeleteYou're welcome.
Oh wow, having someone with military knowledge on a trip like this would be so handy! What kinds of foods does your mum's cousin suggest you take?
Mā te wā,
Mikey
Hi Shadrach, Your idea is understandable. I like how you explain why you picked the food and what is the name. I like how you explain why you brang canned food. I never knew that people in the military eat canned food. Thats all for me.
